For the Mac Fans who need MS Office

I spotted this on eWeek's Microsoft Watch. For today only, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Microsoft offering a $100 rebate redeemable after purchase of any version of Office 2004, including the cheapest version, "Student and Teacher Edition" of Office. In addition, if you buy any version of Office 2004 (including the aforementioned student/teacher edition) now, you can upgrade to the Office 2008 "Special Media Edition" (which appears to be the primo edition) for just seven dollars. That upgrade offer runs for purchases from back from the first of November to January when version 2008 comes out. But the big $100 rebate is good for Black Friday only.

Whose career is dead enough that he has nothing to lose?

So just over a week from now, should the Hollywood Writers' Strike not have ended by then, NBC hopes to bring back the Tonight Show but with guest hosts in place of Jay Leno, who isn't crossing picket lines.

So let's ask ourselves, "Whose career is dead enough that he has nothing to lose by angering a somewhat radicalized Hollywood entertainment community?"

I'm going to place an early wager for Dennis Miller. He's on that show far more often than his career trajectory should dictate. He probably gets paid more when he is a guest on Leno's show than he does at his $40 a seat Vegas shows.
